Don’t smell the roses

Not feeling the flower power for your decorations? Try different types of decorating.

I hate flowers. What else can I use for decorations?

Flowers are the bane of many a bride's existence for many reasons – they’re too typical, someone has allergies or they’re just too expensive.

But flowers aren’t really the be-all and end-all of wedding decor. There are a number of options for wedding decor that can keep you on budget. Instead of flowers, why not consider these options:

  • Use LED uplighting and globos to decorate the room – dramatic uplighting in radiant colours such as pink, aqua or even classic electric white.
  • Paper lanterns in your colour theme hung throughout the room add light and fun to any room.
  • Candles and candlescapes throughout any room add an intimate and romantic look and feel.
  • Ostrich feather centrepieces give any room a timeless yet glamorous look and feel.
  • Fabric draping in vibrant colours and patterns.
  • Add bling, bling and more bling! They say diamonds are a girl's best friend, so adding elements of rhinestones, shimmer and crystals is sure to make your decor really shine.
