Meet the Contributors

Alison Dunn

A journalist with more than 10 years experience, Alison’s work has appeared in a number of top Canadian publications, including glow, Oxygen, Canadian Running and more. She is the former editor of a number of well-respected Canadian and American trade journals and recipient of a Kenneth R. Wilson Gold Award of Excellence in feature article writing. She is a part-time faculty member at Sheridan College’s journalism department, as well as an avid runner and fitness enthusiast.

Ashley Newport

Ashley is a freelance journalist based in Toronto – well, in a city a little west of Toronto. She’s been writing for two years about almost everything. Her favourite topics include politics, society, entertainment, food and health. Her work can be found in Foodservice and Hospitality Magazine and a small Oakville community online paper located somewhere in cyberspace (Google Ashley to find it!).

Danielle Diab

Danielle attended the University of Toronto and Sheridan College where she studied English and Journalism. She has since obtained her certification in Wedding Planning from the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada (WPIC). She enjoys writing on the topics of weddings, lifestyle, food and fashion. Aside from writing, Danielle works as a wedding coordinator for a small company based out of Oakville, Ontario.

Jill is a recent graduate currently juggling two part-time jobs with an increasingly busy freelance writing career. Her ultimate goal is to travel the world while writing about her discoveries.

Kelly Gorven

Kelly is a freelance writer and recent graduate. Aside from writing for, she also reports local news for and  She sits on the Board of Directors for Crime Stoppers of Halton and enjoys volunteering her time to create the newsletter for the organization. In her spare time she enjoys reading and watching movies.

Lindsey Marshall

Lindsey is a freelance journalist based in small-town Dundas, Ont. After graduating from journalism school, Lindsey began writing for publications in both print and online. Aside from writing, Lindsey has a passion for baking and can always be found in the kitchen.  Addicted to watching wedding-related shows on TLC, she is excited to have the opportunity to work for to help out future brides-to-be.

Stefanie Wallace

Since graduating from journalism school, Stefanie has ventured into the world of community newspapers, web projects and trade publications. Her work has appeared in Canadian Pizza, Canadian Biomass and on Besides reading, writing and copyediting, Stefanie loves to travel, cook and spend time with her friends and family.
