Many brides love the idea of having their wedding ceremony outdoors. Some choose beautiful gardens, parks, and even the beach as the setting for this big moment. Of course, one of the main problems that can crop up for an outdoor wedding happens to be the weather. You just never know what the weather will decide to do. As long as it is a beautiful day, you'll have a great wedding but the weather can be so unpredictable. It's a good idea to consider the problems that may occur if the weather goes south on your big day. Here are a few tips for outdoor ceremonies.

Tip #1 - Have Shelter for DJs and/or Musicians

One of the most important tips to remember if you're having an outdoor wedding ceremony is to have a shelter for DJs and/or your musicians. While you want to keep these people protected from the elements, their equipment and instruments are also very important. Often the equipment and instruments can be worth thousands of dollars so you don't want to be responsible for their destruction if it happens to rain. In fact many musicians and DJs will not perform unless a shelter is provided because they want to keep their equipment safe, so just be sure to put this in your budget from the beginning of the planning stages.

Tip #2 - Consider Where You'll Put Guests

You'll also need to consider where you'll put your guests if the weather becomes a problem. Rain is not necessarily the only weather issue, the hot sun can be a problem as well. Consider renting a tent or canopy or even have a room indoors rented in case the weather is not cooperating with you. This way your guests don't end up being uncomfortable.

Tip #3 - Keep Travel Time in Mind

Sometimes the weather can lead to bad road conditions, which means you need to keep travel time in mind. Make sure that you instruct professionals in your wedding ceremony to allow extra time for travel if the weather is bad. The last thing you want to do is have to delay the entire wedding because of bad road conditions.

Tip #4 - Check Out Sites Yourself

It's a good idea to go check out the site yourself if you're going to have your wedding ceremony outdoors. Go at the same time of day you plan on having your wedding. This way you see what the weather is usually like at that time of day. It will help you decide if it is the best venue for your wedding.
